Towson Men’s LAX Team is Headed to the NCAA Tournament Again

Following their unbelievable win on Saturday over UMASS in the CAA Tournament, the Towson Tigers are headed to the NCAA Men’s Lax Tournament for the second time in three years.

Two seasons ago, the Tigers were defeated by Ohio State in the first round of the Tournament. This season the Tigers try to win the first game and advance as far as possible.

Justin Mabus scored the game winning, behind the back goal with about 10 seconds left in regulation to win it for the Tigers. The goal made Sport Center’s Top 10 Plays at number four on Saturday night.

Following the selection show on ESPN U at 9:00 on Sunday night, it was announced that the Towson Tigers would be playing High Point University in the first round play-in game of the NCAA Tournament.
The winner will move on to face number one seeded Notre Dame. The game between High Point will be played in Baltimore, Maryland on Wednesday May 6th. You can watch all the action live on TowsonTigers.com.

Towson finished the regular season with a record of 9-5, losing their last two games. They entered the CAA Tournament with the third seed. Towson beat Drexel in the first game 11-8 and went on to beat UMASS in the Championship game 9-8.
